Who We Are
We are the Trans Pennine Irons — a proud group of West Ham United supporters based across the north of England.
Founded to bring together Hammers fans from both sides of the Pennines, our members span a wide area, from Lincoln to Manchester, Leeds, and beyond. What began as an online community of over 230 passionate West Ham fans has grown into a vibrant and welcoming supporters’ club that flies the Claret and Blue flag far from east London.
As well as meeting up to support West Ham home and away, we’ve also taken our passion onto the pitch. In 2024, we launched the Trans Pennine Irons football team, managed by Damian Locke and assisted by Dominic Woolnough. Since then, the team has represented our group in matches and tournaments across Yorkshire and beyond — including charity fixtures, fun days, and official Internet Football Association (IFA) competitions.
In July 2025, we proudly competed in the IFA WorldNet & BTV Tournament in Doncaster, facing sides from France and across the UK. After strong performances in the group stage, we reached the Plate Final, narrowly losing to Manchester United on penalties after a goalless draw.
“It was a really good tournament, and we’re already booked in for next year,” said Locke, who has since been called up to England’s Supporters’ side.
Whether it’s cheering on the Irons at the London Stadium, meeting up for matchdays in the North, or pulling on the shirt for our own fixtures, we’re proud to represent West Ham United wherever we go.
Come on you Irons! ⚒️
